first generation where children die before their parents

In the mid-to-late 1920s and '30s, the age group at which 20% of the population was obese was people in their mid 50s. By 1986, that group had become people in their early 20s. That was almost 25 years ago, and the age of the obese has continued its downward spiral, leading a UK House of Commons select committee to draw their conclusion in 2007 that "this will be the first generation where children die before their parents, as a consequence of childhood obesity." -Wrightsville Beach Magazine (Aug 2010; page 25) ( Click here to read the entire article pleeeease )

"Over the past three decades, childhood obesity rates in America have tripled, and today, nearly one in three children in America are overweight or obese. One third of all children born in 2000 or later will suffer from diabetes at some point in their lives; many others will face chronic obesity-related health problems like heart disease, high blood pressure, cancer, and asthma." -Click here for more GREAT info from "Let's Move"

A lot of people aren't sure if they're "overweight" or not... and some people think that they are overweight, but they're actually "normal" now... I have to admit, America's view of "normal" is not exactly what I would recommend as "normal" but here is a site for that... Click here

Now... please note that you shouldn't pay attention to only the scales... use your common sense... other things factor in as well.
