Every day people are forced to question whether a product labeled “Gluten-Free” is really free of ingredients that could harm their families; without regulation, manufacturers are currently free to interpret “Gluten-Free” however they wish. As new gluten-free foods enter the market each day, this glaring lack of regulation poses an ever increasing health risk to those of us eating gluten free. Sign this petition to help end this battle with food labeling!

New Inventions For Common Problems

To: You
Date: Today
From: The BOSS
Subject: Yourself
Reference: LIFE

I am God. Today I will be handling all of your problems. Please Remember that I do not need your help. If life happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannot handle, do not attempt to resolve it. Kindly put it in the SFGTD (something for God to do) box.

All situations will be resolved, but in My time, not yours. Once the matter is placed into the box, do not hold onto it by worrying about it. Instead, focus on the wonderful things that are present in your life now.

If you find yourself stuck in traffic; don’t despair. There are people in this world for whom driving is an unheard of privilege.

Should you have a bad day at work; think of the man who has been out of work for years.

Should you grieve the passing of another weekend; think of the woman in dire straits, working twelve hours a day, seven days a week to feed her children.

Should your car break down, leaving you miles away from assistance; think of the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk.

Should you despair over a relationship gone bad; think of the person who has never known what it’s like to love and be loved in return.

Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what is life all about, asking what is my purpose? Be thankful. There are those who didn’t live long enough to get the opportunity.

Should you find yourself the victim of other people’s bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities; remember, things could be worse. You could be one of them!

Should you notice a new gray hair in the mirror; think of the cancer patient in chemo who wishes she had hair to examine.

I want all of this furniture!!!!

I asked God to take away my bad habit.

God said, No. Rolling Eyes It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up.

I asked God to make my handicapped child whole.
God said, No. His spirit is whole, his body is only temporary

I asked God to grant me patience.
God said, No. Patience is a byproduct of tribulations; it isn't granted, it is learned.

I asked God to give me happiness.
God said, No. I give you blessings; Happiness is up to you.

I asked God to spare me pain.
God said, No. Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me.

I asked God to make my spirit grow. God said, No.You must grow on your own but I will prune you to make you fruitful.

I asked God for all things that I might enjoy life.
God said, No. I will give you life, so that you may enjoy all things.

I asked God to help me LOVE others, as much as He loves me.
God said…Ahhhh, finally you have the idea.

THIS DAY IS YOURS DON'T THROW IT AWAY.

Just for fun

Tarheel 10 Miler

On April 9th 2011, Ryan and I ran the...
Tarheel 10 Miler
in Chapel Hill, NC
Ryan's friend Dan, that just recently got accepted into UNC
for grad school (WooHoo! How exciting?) also ran with us!

Results: I ran the 10 miler in 1 hour 45 minutes.
It's been 3 days since the race and my knee is still hurting but let me stress that it hurt 348957938475 times more Saturday night and Sunday. I couldn't even run to the car from the restaurant. (Even in the pouring rain!!! hahaha) I think it was so bad because I'm not used to running on concrete for that long. This was my 2nd longest race to date.

“Success isn't how far you got, but the distance
you traveled from where you started.”

Ryan and Kane Sunday (4/10/12)
Kane is sooooo spoiled.

EATING IN Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill

MAGGIANO'S LITTLE ITALY:
Italian. Make sure you have reservations. Ryan and I ate at the one in Atlanta but couldn't eat there in Raleigh-Durham because they were so packed.

They have gluten free pasta.
I think it was the CLASSIC PASTAS... but it was a deal because if you ordered one of them, you were able to choose another CLASSIC PASTA to take home with you... so Ryan and I had pasta that night and didn't even finish it and then had an entire meal plus leftovers for the following day. Pretty neat.

CARMINE'S:
Yummy gluten free pasta but silly that they charge you $4 more for the gluten free pasta.

Whole Foods & Trader Joe's

...are 2 amazing grocery stores that they have in the area... they're amazing! "Word on the street" is that good ol' Wilmington is getting a Whole Foods where the grocery store was to the left of Independence Mall on Oleander. Awesome! I also heard maybe Trader Joe's but I almost feel like that's too good to be true! We shall see! I pray we get both!

We went to both and I was in awe! We stocked up on a lot of stuff to bring home and to also eat while we were out of town, instead of eating out for all of our meals.

Cooper River Bridge Run

I ran my 1st 10K on April 2nd 2011
in Charleston, South Carolina

This picture is early, early before the race...

My baby & I after we finished the race :) Isn't he so cute?! hehe

The group of us after the race hanging out in Marion Square...

We took this "got milk" picture at the race "after party" hehe...

After the race we walked around town and took in good old Charleston fresh air :) and I will admit that I was in pain (my ankles and feet hurt like no other) haha... but I sucked it up and walked anyways... barefoot :) hehe! Shoes are overrated.

Quintiles Wrightsville Beach Half Marathon 2011

March 20, 2011

I ran my 1st half marathon

My results: 2hrs:21min:38sec

2010 Battleship NC 5K

After the Midnight 5K for Ovarian Cancer

I guess I caught what they call the "runners high"

so, I immediately signed up for the:

2010 Battleship NC 5K

November 7, 2010

Ryan and Drew both did the half. :)

Midnight 5K for Ovarian Cancer

October 29 2010

at Midnight I ran my 1st race ever. :)

It was only a 5K but you have to start small!

Ryan, Joe Mott, and Joe's 2 friends from NC State came out to run with me.

To say it meant the world to me... is an understatement.
